The FACTS Initiative

The FACTS Initiative is a Charlotte-based nonprofit mental health organization founded to expand access to trauma-focused care for children, youth, and families who face barriers to traditional therapy. Many families affected by trauma, poverty, housing instability, violence, and family stress cannot easily access quality care because of cost, transportation, stigma, or limited provider availability.

FACTS provides trauma-focused, culturally responsive care through outpatient services and a community-embedded partnership model. Through its Community Partnership Program, FACTS brings services directly into trusted settings such as shelters, community centers, and partner nonprofit sites, so families receive care where they already have relationships and support. FACTS also runs Clinical Fellowship and Internship programs that train emerging mental health professionals while expanding access to care. Under supervision, fellows and interns provide individual and group counseling, trauma-informed workshops, and family support through these community partnerships.

Our 3-year Partnership Grant

Our 3-year partnership grant fully funds a part-time Clinical Supervisor and Quality Assurance Lead (about 20 hours per week). This licensed clinician will:

• • Supervise clinical interns and fellows
  • Review treatment plans and approve group and workshop content before it reaches the community
  • Make sure every intervention is trauma-informed and culturally responsive
  • Carry a small caseload of the highest-need clients who require a fully licensed clinician

Dedicated supervision means FACTS can safely welcome more interns and fellows, serve more children and families through community partnerships, and keep quality consistent across every program. It also frees executive leadership to focus on growing the organization.
